Bij een liefdadigheidsactie waarbij kleren worden uitgedeeld aan armen zijn op twee verschillende plaatsen in Bangladesh minstens tien doden gevallen. Er vielen ook zeker honderd gewonden.Bij het eerste incident in het district Patuakhali brak chaos uit onder de wachtenden toen het gerucht de ronde deed dat niet voor iedereen kleren voorhanden zouden zijn. Verschillende mensen werden vertrappeld. Zes mensen kwamen om en zeventig raakten gewond.In het district Myemsingh vielen bij een gelijkaardig voorval vier doden en dertig gewonden.De kleren voor de armen zijn afkomstig van welgestelde inwoners van Bangladesh. De koran schrijft voor dat zij arme moslims moeten helpen. (dpa)
